Does Citizen Kane deserve #1?

I don't believe that Citizen Kane deserves the title that it received for so many years. I do think that a lot of people enjoyed the movie, but I was not one of them. I found it to be very boring and it did not contain a lot of action which I usually enjoy. There was a very low suspense level throughout the film. I also felt as though there was really no climx besides at the end when we learn what rosebud means and what it says about his childhood. The storyline was also a little confusing for me to understand. This movie was probably only rated number one because of the camera angles and filming used in it. It contains a diverse range of filming techniques that are unusual, and because of this it probably could have deserved its title one time, but definitely not as many times as it did. It received a title of #1film in the world, and I feel like there would have been much better films for them to choose which they didn't. Comment a scene from Citizen Kane that made you feel that it deserved its great recognition.

Being distracting during movies

When you go to see a film in theaters, everyone is expected to be respectful and turn off or silence their cell phones. There are usually even commercials that say "silence your cellphone". This is because it is a public place where everyone is trying to pay attention to a movie. It can also be disrespectful if you are trying to spend time with someone and they only want to be on their phone, so it is usually best to assume you can't use your phone at the movie theatre. Another distracting thing that people are not supposed to do is talk during movies because it is considered rude. I wish that it wasn't that way because it can be good to discuss the movie you're watching with your friends. I usually do talk to my friends during movies and I'm pretty sure people around us think it's annoying but that doesn't bother me. I have known some people to be aggravated by others eating crunchy or noisy foods during movies, but that can't really be helped because people are going to eat during movies no matter what. Comment below if you have ever been in a situation at the movies where you or somebody else was being a distraction while trying to watch a film.

Lights Out Film Review

Lights Out directed by David F. Sandberg is a thriller/ horror movie that is very suspenseful and keeps the audience wondering what is going to happen next. A sister and brother have both experienced a paranormal character named Diana, though Diana now only haunts the brother. His sister Rebecca works together with her boyfriend to help save their family from this ghost that is harming them. Their mother is "friends" with Diana and tries to convince the family to be friends with her too, but she comes to her senses later on when Diana hurts her children which is something she said she would never put up with. Diana now wants revenge on her for being betrayed and takes the anger out on the family. Some of this film was filmed on a set while some was outside or on location in L.A.

Discussion of why we watch movies?

Why do we watch movies?

Movies are one of the main sources of entertainment in our society today, and they have been for many years. Movies are a way to escape our problems and think about something other than our own lives because they take you away from reality and to a new place. They can make you believe magical things or places are real for a short amount of time. Some people may watch movies to learn about new things or cultures, or to listen to or study a new language. Sometimes I think that people who want to find something do go to the movies to kill time. Also, people who want to hang out with their friends but don't know where to go will often go to the movies. I believe this is because movies have been part of our lives for so long that it feels normal to go to the movies and it is a widely accepted way to pass time. It is also really easy and effortless to just sit down and stare at a screen, but it is very entertaining all at the same time which makes movies loved by many.
